People running for upper positions gave their short speeches one by one, same thing over and over again... until one old gal got up and said, " I've been a women for quite some time now... I'm voting for Hillary because I have a vagina!" WOW... what does one say to that... the crowd was silent. You go grandma!
Hours and hours of waiting, knitting, reading, snacking, listening to loud opinions fly about and vaginas boldly flapping their mouths, and in the end we got kicked out of our room because we still weren't finished. We had to stand in the lobby and wait, and wait some more until finally at 6:00 pm, two hours after the declared closing time, with a third of the people still hanging in there, we did our last vote of the day, the electing of the next batch of alternates for the State Caucus... for which I did not volunteer.
All in all It was an enlightening experience, and I now have an appreciation for what the truly dedicated people do in these campaigns. It is a huge undertaking, and a great commitment of time, patience, and passion I think, to be able to put up with it all. I'm glad those people exist because I would fizzle over night. Thank you to those who are so dedicated.
